To fit into the dress of Marilyn Monroe at the Met Gala, Kim Kardashian imposed a drastic diet in order to lose seven kilos.
Met Gala 2022 | As per usual, Kim Kardashian created a surprise with her look: a platinum blond mane highlighted by THE Marilyn Monroe dress.
Yes, the same one worn in 1962 by the iconic blonde the day she sang “Happy Birthday Mister President” to John F. Kennedy. If we could believe in a very well made replica of the dress, it was indeed the one worn by Marilyn Monroe herself.
At the time, the star bought it from French couturier Jean-Louis Berthault for the sum of 1440 dollars. Since then, it has been kept at Ripley’s Believe It Or Not museum in a room where the temperature is around 20 degrees and the humidity is 40-50%.
But putting on the dress was a real challenge for Kim Kardashian since alterations on such a masterpiece are prohibited.
KIM KARDASHIAN’S DRASTIC DIET
And for good reason, the first time she tries on this famous dress, Kim Kardashian does not fit in. An experience she tells the American magazine “People”: I said :
“Give me three weeks”
I lost seven kilos. And adds:
“It was such a challenge. It was like a role. I was determined to fit into the dress. I haven’t eaten carbs and sugar for about 3 weeks.”
A drastic diet therefore, which it is not advisable to follow without the prior advice of a doctor.
But rest assured! Once the ceremony was over, the star said “goodbye” to deprivation alongside her companion Pete Davidson:
“We are going to go back to the hotel and eat pizza and donuts! This is a program that is not displeasing to us!
