The footballer and his partner, Georgina Rodriguez, had revealed last December the sex of their twins. One of them, the boy, died during childbirth.
“This is the greatest pain a parent can feel”
In a message posted on Instagram, footballer Cristiano Ronaldo and his partner Georgina Rodriguez announced on Monday the death of their baby, following the delivery of their twins.
“Only the birth of our little girl gives us the strength to live this moment with a little hope and happiness”, writes the couple in this press release. “Our boy, you are our angel. We will love you forever,” he concludes.
“We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for their expertise and support,” wrote Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez, “devastated by this loss,” asking for respect for their privacy during this time.
The couple, together since the end of 2016, had announced at the end of October expecting twins, already on Instagram. The following month, still on the same social network, he had revealed the sex of their children to come.
“Where life begins and love never ends,” Cristiano Ronaldo wrote on Instagram, commenting on a video of his four children punching balloons releasing pink and blue confetti.
Cristiano Ronaldo was already the father of four children. He had been for the first time in 2010: his son, Cristiano Junior, has since followed his path since he recently joined the Manchester United academy.
Single, he had appealed in 2016 to a surrogate mother and had become in July 2017 the father of twins, Eva and Mateo. With Georgina Rodriguez, he had been a father for the fourth time in November 2017, of little Alana.
