Kremlin Says It’s “Unacceptable” That Biden Accuses Russia Of “Genocide”.
Moscow, Russia |The Kremlin on Wednesday called it “unacceptable” that US President Joe Biden accuses Russian troops of committing “genocide” in the military campaign Russia began seven weeks ago in Ukraine.
“We totally disagree with the statements and consider the attempts to distort the situation unacceptable,” said Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
“Furthermore, it is hardly acceptable for this to be said by the president of the United States, a country that has committed known (condemnation) actions in modern and recent history,” he added.
Biden used the word “genocide” for the first time on Tuesday to describe Russian action in Ukraine.
The president made that comment when speaking about his administration’s efforts to contain the rise in gasoline prices in the wake of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.
