Cristiano Ronaldo | The Details Of The Incident Between Ronaldo And The Young Everton Supporter

Cristiano Ronaldo was on the spotlight on social media this Saturday after being accused of destroying the cell phone of an Everton fan, with whom Manchester United lost in the Premier League 0-1.
The Portuguese soccer player appears in a video in which he bends down and makes a movement with his right arm, with the device crashing to the ground after that. Young Jake Harding is a fan of the Portuguese ace, is 14 years old and suffers from autism.
Sarah Kelly had taken Jake to the stadium for the first time to see Everton, but the day ended badly.
“Manchester United players were leaving. We were in Park End, right in the tunnel they were going through, and my son was filming them. At one point he put his phone down because Ronaldo pulled his sock down and His leg was bleeding. He lowered his cell phone to see what it was, he didn’t even speak”, said the mother, in statements to the newspaper The Liverpool Echo.
“Ronaldo walked by, he was in a terrible, terrible mood, took the phone out of my son’s hand, threw it and continued walking. You can see the bruise where he made contact. I can’t even believe I’m talking about this.. .”, she continued.
The repercussions of the incident are already beginning to be felt. One of England’s leading children’s charities, the Save The Children association, has decided that Cristiano Ronaldo cannot continue to be one of its ambassadors.
According to The Sun, the organization aims to make children feel safe, healthy and have the possibility to study. Now, the attitude of the Portuguese international does not fit with what they promote.
Cristiano Ronaldo has already apologized through a publication on his official Instagram account and offered the young Brit the opportunity to watch another Manchester United game.
“It is never easy to deal with emotions in troubled times like the one we are going through. Still, we must always be respectful, patient and we must set an example for all young people who love the game. I want to apologize for my moment of fury and, if possible, invite the fan to watch a game at Old Trafford as a sign of fair play and sportsmanship”, reads CR7’s post on social media.
Jake’s mother says that it is unlikely that she will accept Ronaldo’s offer as the young man is “in shock” and therefore considers it best to keep him away from football.
“I was crying, I was in shock, Jake was completely in shock. He’s autistic and has dyspraxia, so he didn’t understand what really happened until he got home. He’s very upset and I won’t take him to another game. This was the first one he went to and this happened… We had a brilliant day, until those final seconds when they walked off the field. It completely ruined the day,” added Sarah.
“I could understand if Jake was waving in his face, but that was not the case. He is an autistic kid and was attacked by a football player. That’s how I see things as a mother”, she concluded.
The English press revealed this Sunday that the police have already opened an investigation:
“We can confirm that we are investigating an incident that happened in Goodison involving a player who was leaving the field. We will speak to all parties involved”, explained the police. of Merseyside, in a statement. “Anyone with information about what happened should contact the authorities,” says The Liverpool Echo.
