Malikah Shabazz, the daughter of black Civil Rights Activist Malcom X, has been found Dead in her home in New York. She was the last of the six children of Malcom X. She was born in September 1965. Seven months after her father’s murder.
The NYPD confirmed her death of Monday. According to Police, her daughter found her dead in her Midwood living room on East 28th Street, at her home in New York at around 5 pm.
Shabazz whom died at the age of 56, is one the twins sister of Malaak born to Malcom X with his wife Betty Shabazz.
New York City Police Department (NYPD) officers were dispatched to the Brooklyn home of Shabazz, 56, after her daughter found her unresponsive about 5 p.m, according to NYPD Official.
The city’s medical examiner responded to the scene and did not believe that the death was suspicious, while police also found no reason to suspect foul play.
He cause of death has yet to be released.
The news comes just days after a New York Supreme Court judge exonerated two of the three men convicted of killing Malcom X in 1965. Judge Ellen Biben’s decision followed a two-year investigation by Manhattan’s district attorney that determined Muhammad A. Aziz, 83, and the late Khalil Islam were “wrongfully convicted.”
