In Japan, a 24-year-old man created a panic on a train after brandishing a knife. He was disguised as the Joker in Batman The Dark Knight.
According to Japanese medias, three people are in critical conditions, including a man over the age of 70. He was stabbed in the chest.
The incident took place on October 31, the day of Halloween. At around 8 p.m., local time, a man brandished a knife after the train left the station. The train was headed to Shinjuku, a busy station in Tokyo.
According to witnesses, he would light a cigarette and start a fire using a liquid. The passengers took refuge behind the train but got stuck in the car.
Several passengers fled through the windows. When questioned by the police and asked the reason behind his attack, he simply replied “I wanted to hurt people and get the death penalty”.
The attacker who was stopped by the police at the next station, was identified as Kyota Hattori.
